# List Actions

**`GET /policies/{policyId}/grids/{gridId}/actions`**

Returns all row-level actions the caller's role may execute on the specified grid. Actions whose `requiredRoles` the caller does not hold are automatically omitted, inaccessible actions are never leaked.

***

## Authentication

Requires a valid Guardian JWT bearer token. The caller must hold at least one of:

* `POLICIES_POLICY_EXECUTE`
* `POLICIES_POLICY_MANAGE`

| Field           | Type   | Description                                                                                                                                                               |
| --------------- | ------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `actionId`      | string | Stable action identifier — use this in the [Execute Action](/docs/develop/developer-tools-and-resources/logging-configuration/policy-grid-actions/execute-action.md) call |
| `label`         | string | Human-readable action label                                                                                                                                               |
| `requiredRoles` | array | Policy roles that may execute this action |
| `appliesTo`     | string | Always `"row"` — actions target individual records                                                                                                                        |
| `inputSchema` | object | JSON Schema describing the action's request body. Shape depends on the underlying block type: |

**`inputSchema` by action type:**

| Underlying block                                                 | Body shape                | Notes                                                                                                                                                                         |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Selector / button (e.g. Approve, Reject)                         | `{}` (empty)              | `inputSchema.properties` is empty — no body needed                                                                                                                            |
| Dropdown (e.g. assigning an entity to a record)                  | `{ "value": "<choice>" }` | `inputSchema.properties.value.enum` lists the currently valid values, resolved live (e.g. from registered entities); `.options` pairs each value with a human-readable `name` |
| Request-VC-document (e.g. submitting a form that mints a new VC) | `{ "document": { ... } }` | `inputSchema.properties.document.description` names the schema IRI the submitted fields must conform to                                                                       |

See [Execute Action](/docs/develop/developer-tools-and-resources/logging-configuration/policy-grid-actions/execute-action.md) for full request/response examples of each shape.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://guardian.hedera.com/docs/develop/developer-tools-and-resources/logging-configuration/policy-grid-actions/list-actions.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
